– Post-Doctoral Positions are Available in Regulatory RNA Research
Two postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Je-Hyun Yoon in the
Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Medical University of South Carolina. The
successful candidates will participate in NIH-funded and Department of Defense (DoD)-funded
projects on 1) the alcoholic liver injury and cancer and 2) the Duchenne Muscular
Dystrophy studies specifically involving biochemical, molecular, and cellular mechanisms of
extracellular RNA release and circular RNA biogenesis.

Duties: Potential research projects involve working in
1) intestinal epithelial cell and hepatocyte models of alcohol-induced liver inflammation and
tumorigenesis.
2) In vitro models of skeletal muscle differentiation and membrane repair modulated by circular
RNAs
Qualifications: We encourage qualified and motivated individuals with a Ph.D. from broad
backgrounds in biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology fields, including but not limited to
post-transcriptional gene expression regulation. Recently graduated Ph.D.’s from diverse
backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have an excellent record of
publication in peer-reviewed journals.
